Valborg Choir

Singing with a renewing impulse

The Valborg Choir

The Valborg Choir is a mixed choir.  Since our foundation in 1992 we are directed by Árpád Schermann. Presently the choir has about 40 members. We work out of the principles of the ‘School for Uncovering the Voice’ as developed by the Swedish soprano Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström (1879-1972). Our members adhere to this approach in singing.

The Valborg Choir is a part of the
Valborg Foundation. The Valborg Foundation aims at promoting the vision of Valborg Werbeck-Svärdström by organizing besides (international) concerts, study meetings and singing-weekends.

Since a few years the students from the training on Singing Pedagogies and Singing Therapy (‘Initiatief Basisopleiding zangpedagogie/therapie’) have the opportunity to participate in the Valborg Choir.
